Our Story

About Us: The Art of Getting Dirty

Welcome to No Kidding Farm & Vineyard. We are a family of five (plus a herd) building a dream from the soil up in Central Virginia.

From Combat Boots & Corporate Suits to Muddy Roots

Our story isn't the typical "retirement plan." It’s a rebellion against the ordinary.

My husband is an Army Veteran. Years of service taught him discipline, logistics, and how to get the job done no matter the conditions. I am a former corporate marketing professional turned artist and full-time mother to our three small children.

We traded the predictability of our old lives for the unpredictable beauty of farm life. We wanted to build something real—something our children could touch, learn from, and grow alongside.

Why "No Kidding"?

People ask us about the name all the time. It’s a little bit of a pun and a whole lot of truth:

The "Kids": We are raising few kinds of kids here—our three humans, our herd of dairy goats, and sweet fiber and meat sheep. They are all loud, messy, and full of joy.

The Promise: When we say our products are natural, handmade, and crafted with care, we mean it. No kidding.

Meet the Makers

The Veteran (Him): He brings the structure to the chaos. He’s the one building the fences, managing the vineyard rows, and ensuring that our operations run with military precision. He pours the same dedication into this land that he poured into his service.

The Artist (Me): I bring the soul. As a painter and creator, I treat every bar of soap, every skein of yarn, and every harvest like a blank canvas. I believe that "farm-raised" shouldn't just mean functional; it should be beautiful. My studio is often shared with my three little people, meaning every item I make is created in the midst of real, vibrant family life.

Our Mission

When you buy from No Kidding, you aren't just buying soap or yarn. You are supporting a Veteran-owned business, an artist’s creative expression, and a family that is working hard to steward this land.

We invite you to be part of our story.

With gratitude, Stewart & Katya
